Before turning his focus to the practice of law, Mr. DiIorio was a nationally recognized classical languages scholar, with his studies focused at Hamilton College and Harvard University.

While at Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans, Mr. DiIorio studied clinical practice in the area of criminal law under the guidance of Mr. Stephen Singer, the present Director of Trials of the Orleans Indigent Defender Program, and received clinical certification in this area. Mr. DiIorio also worked under the guidance of respected criminal law practitioner Mr. Townsend Myers. Mr. DiIorio further specialized his studies in International Law, in which field he also received certification.

In 2005, just two months after Katrina, Mr. DiIorio established the Law Office of Peter J. DiIorio. Like many Louisianans, Mr. DiIorio focused his efforts on working to make a real difference in the lives of those most in need. Accordingly, Mr. DiIorio concentrated his expertise upon the areas of insurance litigation, including complex tort and class action litigation.

Since this time, as lead counsel in Katrina-related insurance litigation matters, Mr. DiIorio has recovered over four million dollars for Louisiana homeowners and business owners. Also, Mr. DiIorio has authored several class action lawsuits concerning insurance coverage and levee breach liability. In addition, Mr. DiIorio continues to offer first-rate professional legal assistance to Louisiana individuals in the areas of probate law, personal injury and criminal defense.
